about

When Bâmsee isn’t regularly composing music for television networks such as National Geographic and Animal Planet he is experimenting with many different sounds from Hip Hop to IDM and everything in between. With years of classical music education behind him Bâmsee intends to bring this wealth of knowledge to form his own unique perspective on electronic music. He may just be starting to venture into new territories but he is certainly somebody to keep your ears out for.

On his way to music theory class a colleague showed him a new electronic/jazzy sound that blew him away, it happened to be London Elektricity, Billion Dollar Gravy. From that moment on he became obsessed with Drum and Bass from Calibre to Photek. He began discovering new artists daily and found BBC radio.

Whilst his previous direction was to become a Concert Violinist, he began producing tracks on Garageband (much to his teachers disapproval) and became completely immersed in many forms of electronic music. It was very difficult for anyone to accept the music he was listening to even though he was attending an arts school, but he was inspired by the unique sounds of the digital world and would spend hours listening instead of practicing. It wasnt until the Breezeblock show in 2006 when Kode9 mixed Burials music that he discovered Dubstep.

“I am inspired by the feelings that music brings upon us, the fact that a piece can affect one so deeply. I wanted to be able to carry across the sorrow, the joy, the happiness, the anger, that no traditional instruments could produce.”
