Conscious hip-hop artist AZitiZ from New Orleans brings a dubwise yearning backed by accordion and pared-down beats produced by Philadelphia based producer Paul Dunnaville.
'What Is Love' is AZitiZ at the peak of her soulful powers, think Erykah Badu meets classic 90s MPC analog production.
Her artist name, derived from the Sanskrit meaning 'unadulterated truth', fits an artist who has been compared to the conscious hip-hop sounds of Lauryn Hill. She initially started out as a percussionist before falling in love with hip-hop.
AZitiZ released her debut album ‘The City Of Love’ on September 5th 2011 and is currently touring Poland & Germany on a roundabout route to the South African Conscious Music Movement Tour launching April 2012.
"What Is Love" has been picked up by the UK's XFM and named 2 weeks running as Hot Artist on John Kennedy's new talent showcase Xposure.
